Gen Z are an increasingly powerful market in the tourism industry, making travel a priority in their budgets and placing high value on inclusive and sustainable travel experiences.
The process of researching and booking travel has been revolutionised by social media and brands have to evolve their marketing strategies in order to stay in touch with this growing market segment.
Nearly 30% of Gen Z adults identify as LGBTQ+, and increasingly heterosexual allies are placing importance on inclusivity as a brand value. This travel ‘niche’ is becoming a mainstream market.
Despite only making up an estimated 5% of the global population, LGBTQ+ travellers make up 7-10% of travel industry spending. While travel is prioritised by many members of the community, negative experiences are all too common, with 59% of LGBTQ+ tourists having faced discrimination while travelling.
I believe there is massive potential for growth in this sector for businesses that can provide a more inclusive and comfortable experience for LGBTQ+ travellers, and I want to help your business thrive.
