France

Growing up in England, I’ve been able to visit France several times throughout my life, although I can’t say my GCSE level French has enhanced my experiences. Although France has much more to offer than just Paris, the capital city is the place I’ve spent the most time.

While I have previously considered it overrated, my recent trips actually made me reconsider my stance, and I think I’ve been able to experience the magic that has made it the iconic destination it is. That being said, my recent trips were before high season and I think that was a massive influence on my experience as any destination suffering from overtourism in such a way can be hard to enjoy and view positively.

There’s lots of France I have yet to experience, but I am most interesting in revisiting the French Riviera, as it’s a stunning coastline dotted with towns that have maintained the charming provincial look that the region is associated with.
